What it's like
The enclosure sits on the sand in front of Clontarf Reserve, so you walk in from the beach rather than climbing down. The gradual slope makes it one of the gentlest harbour swims for small children, and there is plenty of safe beach on either side.
When to go
Weekday mornings; the reserve is busy with families and picnics on summer weekends.
