What it's like
This is Kiama's lap pool: a full 50 m ocean pool on the rocks at Black Beach, with harbour and sea views. It is a different pool from the Continental Pool in North Wollongong.
In the late 1800s Pheasant Point was where Kiama's women bathed, while the men used the rock pool at Blowhole Point across the harbour.
When to go
Mornings on a calm day are best for laps.
Getting there and facilities
The pool is at Black Beach Reserve, Kiama, a 15-minute walk around the harbour from the blowhole, or about ten minutes from Kiama station. The town's cafes are close by.
Good to know
