What it's like
The pool is small and shallow, a paddling spot for toddlers rather than a lap pool. Its floor is stony, so take care near the edges. Locals raised the money for its concrete floor through the Avoca Beach Progress Association, and an older, smaller rock pool once sat at its eastern end.
When to go
Calm mornings and mid tide suit young children. Summer holidays are busy.
